In a surprising turn of events, Max Verstappen has accused McLaren of “cheating” ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, putting the spotlight on the team’s controversial rear wing design. The allegations came during the pre-race media day, where Verstappen voiced his concerns over McLaren’s so-called “mini-DRS” system, which has been under FIA scrutiny since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Speaking about the issue, Verstapp en said: “I’ve noticed some irregularities with McLaren’s rear wing. It seems like they’re exploiting a loophole, and frankly, it feels like cheating. If we’re all supposed to follow the same rules, then everyone should be held to the same standards.”

The FIA quickly responded to Verstappen’s claims, issuing a statement to clarify the situation. “McLaren’s rear wing has passed all static tests and deflection tests conducted by the FIA. However, we are continuing to review data from the Azerbaijan GP and are considering further measures if necessary,” the governing body said.

While McLaren has maintained that their car is within the regulations, the controversy has cast a shadow over the Singapore GP, with many wondering if the FIA will take any further action against the British team. Fans and experts alike will be keeping a close eye on how this situation unfolds as the race weekend progresses.
