Mr. Fenn revealed to Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper that a few days ago a man discovered a box containing gold and precious stones such as rubies, emeralds and diamonds, estimated to be worth more than 1 million USD. . this man came from the east and took a picture of the treasure chest and sent it to Mr. Fenn to prove his discovery.

According to the veteran collector, he came up with the idea of ​​burying a treasure chest in the Rocky Mountains to encourage people to explore nature as well as give hope to those affected by the Great Depression. the clues that lead to the location of the treasure chest include a 24-line poem from his 2010 autobiography “the thrill of the Chase”.

Mr. Fenn estimates that as many as 350,000 people around the world participated in the treasure hunt. Some of them even quit their jobs to devote themselves to this and some died in the process.

Mr. Fenn expressed hope that thousands of people who have participated in the search for the treasure chest but have not been lucky will continue to try their luck with other discovery efforts in the future.
